|
Waves this morning at the Washout (845AM EDT), KNEE-THIGH with CHOPPY/MUSHY conditions. A broad high pressure remains across the Northeastern portion of the US with ENE-NE winds along the South Carolina coast. Waves are small and choppy, but are expected to build on todays incoming tide this afternoon in the WAIST-STOMACH range. Winds will remian NE-ENE over the next 24 hours, before becoming more easterly tomorrow as the surface high pressure slides offshore. An upper level short wave trough will be moving across South Carolina from the west over the next 72-96 hours. Winds are expected to veer southwesterly out ahead of this trough. Waves will remain relativly choppy until the trough moves overhead, which will allow the winds to quickly weaken. There will be waves to surf over the next 72 hours, but if you are looking for better conditions, Thursday looks to be the day. BOTTOM LINE: NE WINDSWELL AND CHOP IN THE STOMACH RANGE, WINDS VEER SOUTHWESTERLY, TROUGH MOVES OVERHEAD WITH WEAK WINDS AND CLEANER SURF IN THTE STOMACH RANGE FOR LATE WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY.
